English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

This parent group meets regularly throughout the year and represents parents of students who are learning English.  Each year elections are held for officer positions.  Parents may participate as an elected officer or attend the meeting as a member of the ELAC.  All parents are welcome to attend our ELAC meetings.  The ELAC plays a vital role in the planning, implementation and evaluation of our English Learner Program.  The ELAC makes recommendations to the SSC regarding our English Learner Program.

School Site Council (SSC)

This parent group meets regularly throughout the year and represents parents and community members.  Each year elections are held for officer positions.  Parents may participate as an elected officer or attend the meeting as a member of the SSC.  All parents are welcome to attend our SSC meetings.  The SSC plays a vital role in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the School Plan and Locust’s state funded programs. 

Coffee with the Principal & Counselor

Coffee with the Principal & Counselor is a wonderful opportunity for parents to meet with the principal and counselor to receive updates regarding the progress of the school. Additionally, through these meetings, parents are provided resources, strategies, materials, etc. to help parents support their students’ success at school.  Some of the topics include behavior, attendance, study habits, college and career readiness, etc. Coffee with the Principal meetings are scheduled regularly throughout the school year.
