Dear Locust Families,

Welcome to a new school year! I hope you and your family had a wonderful summer filled with rest, fun, and special memories. We are excited to open our doors and welcome our students back for another year of learning, growth, and success.

 As your principal, I am honored to continue serving this incredible school. We will continue our commitment to academic excellence, strong relationships, and the social-emotional well-being of every student. Our goal is to ensure that each child is challenged, encouraged, and inspired to reach their full potential. Together, we will foster a community where students develop confidence, responsibility, and a love of learning.

Please complete your Annual Information Update before August 6th by logging in to the Q Parent Portal.

The Annual Information Update must be completed to view the name of a student’s teacher. Teacher information will be available on Monday, August 3rd. 

Students will not be able to access their laptop curriculum until the Annual Information Update is completed. If you do not remember your password, please click "Forgot Password" and you will be able to reset it to log in. Please make sure to complete your Annual Information Update before August 6th. We appreciate your help with this! 
 

Here are a few important reminders as we begin the school year:

• First Day of School: Thursday, August 6th
• Back to School Night: Thursday, August 6th                                                                                                                                                     
  • Principal Welcome and Informational Parent Meeting in the MPR: 5:00-5:30 pm
  • Meet the teacher and class presentations: Session 1 5:30-6:00 pm; Session 2 6:00-6:30
• School Hours for Kinder-6th Grade: 7:45 am – 2:20 pm (M, T, Th, F); 7:45 am – 11:50 am (Wednesdays)
• School Hours for TK: 7:45 am - 12:15 pm (M, T, Th, F); 7:45 am – 11:50 am (Wednesdays)
• Regular Drop-off/Pick-up Procedures: Please use inside lane for drop off and outside lane for thru traffic. Please do not leave your car parked in the drop off area to walk your student to the door. Please find a parking space to walk your student to the door.
  • Parents and guardians:
    • Please walk your TK and Kindergarten students to the MPR/cafeteria doors.
    • Please drop off your student at the MPR/cafeteria doors no earlier than 7:20 am and follow procedures based on their grade level and class. TK, Kindergarten, and SDC classes will remain in the cafeteria until their teacher picks them up at 7:45 am. Grades 1-6 will be dismissed to the blacktop at 7:35 am, and teachers will pick up their classes at 7:45 am on the blacktop.
    • At dismissal, TK and Kindergarten pick up will be at the gate to the north of the office. TK dismissal is at 12:15 pm, and Kindergarten dismissal is at 2:20 pm. SDC classes will dismiss at 2:20 pm at the covered gate to the south of the MPR/cafeteria. Please be sure to bring your ID to pick up your student. 
• Welcome Back Spirit Week: August 24-28 (more information will be sent out at a later date)
• Locust Pride Rally for August: Friday, September 4th
• Picture Day: Tuesday, September 15th 

As partners in your child's education, we encourage you to stay involved and connected. Throughout the year, we will share important information, celebrate student achievements, and provide opportunities for family engagement. Your support and involvement play a vital role in your child's success. We encourage you to stay connected through our school website and ParentSquare.
